Justice for Sean Bell

Sean Bell with his wife-to-be NicoleThe morning of his wedding last November, Sean Bell and his two friends Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman were leaving his bachelor party in Jamaica, Queens. Undercover policemen shot at them fifty times, killing Sean and injuring his friends. We hear from those who are demanding justice.

Scholars Speak to the Nation

On Saturday December 16, tens of thousands of people marched down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan to protest the police killing of Sean Bell. Among the crowds was the Radio Schomburg crew.

In this clip, scholars Ben Thomas and Trent Stewart speak with Democracy Now!, a national, independent, daily news program airing on over 450 stations in North America.
